I have been connected to the Lakes Region for 57 years; though I’ve lived in many places, my heart has always lived here. For the last 15 years, I’ve been fortunate to live here full time. I learned of the Ingham Method of Therapeutic Foot Reflexology Massage 18 years ago while living in The Netherlands. I used the techniques as an aid in my work as a personal care provider for the elderly and special needs children to provide relief from pain and distress. In 2010, legislation changed allowing me to practice Reflexology professionally. I earned certification from the International Institute of Reflexology and ARCB, and received my license in 2011. After performing more than 2,000 hours of Foot Reflexology sessions on people of all ages with a wide variety of health issues, I have no doubts about it being one of the most holistic, and directly effective methods of improving health and well-being.
I’ve practiced T’ai Chi Chuan for about 19 years and began studying the I Ching at age fifteen. Many different interpretations of The Book of Changes have been written over three thousand years by Buddhist, Taoist and Confucian scholars, monks, mystics and sages. My life’s passion, I’ve worn out fifteen different volumes that are a vast resource, illuminating universal principles and the human experience on the planet relating to body and mind health, social and natural sciences, religion and spirituality. The intention of the authors – maintenance and restoration of health, harmony and balance in society and the individual – informs all my work.
I never married, have no children, love my family, other people’s children and my cats. Making art, music, dancing (especially belly-dancing and dancing to African drums), caring for others, good conversation, researching all aspects of body and mind health, writing, learning from and teaching others, and giving Foot Reflexology massage give my life meaning and purpose.
